Tax Talk Invitation

Expert Tax Advice for Professional Advisers

Your CABEL Tax Talk Invitation – 27 August 2015

The CABEL Tax team will be presenting on the following topics:

Keeping your distance – non arm’s length dealings and capital gains tax

Non arm’s length dealings for taxation purposes can arise in the most unexpected circumstances. The taxation consequences can often be unfavourable, yet sometimes the outcome may lead to significant taxation benefits.

This presentation is for advisers of middle market corporate transactions, divestment and management buyouts. Also, this presentation is for those who advise on middle market private business and real property dealings, including family group succession planning.

Presenter: Dean Crossingham

Sharing a slice of the pie – Employee share plans for private companies and start ups

Employee share plans are used to allow employees to own a share of the company they work for, so that they act and feel like business owners. For smaller companies or start ups they are appealing as a way of attracting and retaining key staff, however Australia’s tax laws can be complicated and sometimes harsh for smaller companies.

This presentation looks at some common arrangements used by start ups and private companies to remunerate employees, and also covers the new employee share scheme rules for start ups applying from 1 July 2015. This presentation is for advisers to small private and start up companies.
